Notations On Our World (Weekly Edition): On The Week That Was In Our World

We hereby present a snapshot of the dialogue in our World:

One month ago a large group of men armed with handguns and rifles descended on the state capitol building in Michigan.
These men were part of an organized protest effort. In Facebook postings leading up to the event, some in their virtual groups had threatened violence against the state’s governor. The threat was egregious enough that Facebook even removed the organizers’ private group from the platform.
Many of these armed protestors entered the capitol building where they paraded around with guns while shouting at state legislators. This is what the scene looked like.
And here is what President Donald Trump had to say about the protests:
By contrast, this is what Trump had to say about protests surrounding the murder of George Floyd in Minnesota, one month later:
It’s just interesting.

Jared Kushner has emerged as a top target of criticism for members of the “MAGA” base who blame President Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser for what they see as the administration’s failure to live up to the populist vision of the 2016 campaign.
These activist Trump supporters worry that Kushner’s advice so dilutes the president’s message on immigration, foreign policy, crime, and controlling the riots that have broken out since George Floyd’s death that it could endanger his reelection in November.

Notations On Our World (Special Edition): On #GeorgeFloyd, Racial Justice and the Need To Change

These have been challenging times in America.   We hereby present a discourse of the week that was and the debate that has ensued.    As we went to press, protests have continued in dozens of cities including in front of the White House.    In California and other States, The National Guard has been called out.    The Governor of Minnesota has appointed Keith Ellison, the Attorney General of Minnesota to serve as Special Prosecutor as President Trump was busy with his views on Twitter--and the Mayor of Atlanta and others implored him to Stop Talking.

We captured the banner that Google released to  simply say:  We have to change--this is why we began this journey.   We look forward to being all we can in our power to be part of the Solution as America reels in the aftermath of the horrific killing of George Floyd to underscore the racist and bigotry in America as we note leadership in action to say we have to change.  We present a discourse of the deliberations over the weekend:
