On Our "Virtual Route 66" In the World This Week

Our Hometown This Week

It is officially May Day as our team went to press.   Demonstrations went on around the World on this day to commemorate this day.   Beyond May Day, it was also quite a day as the January 6 investigations continued (with a former Lawyer for former President Trump agreeing to turn over 10,000 pages of Emails), as evidence continued to mount about House Republican Involvement in the Former President's Election Schemes .   There was also this by Bill Kristol, one of the leading anti-Trump Republicans on the so-called McCarthy Tapes:

The World continued to be witness to the raging war in Ukraine.   There were reports of Vladimir Putin undergoing Cancer Surgery ((unconfirmed)).   The UN Secretary-General visited Mr. Putin and then when the UN Secretary-General was in Ukraine, Russians attacked Kyiv with missiles.   However, as we went to press today, there was a deal to evacuate civilians from the Mariupol steel plant--although the City itself has been reduced to rubble--and this is where we begin our snapshot of our "Virtual Route 66" Prowl courtesy France24, Washington Examiner, Financial Times, the Economist of London, The Sydney Morning Herald (As Elections looms in Australia) , Goldman Sachs (re China) and other valued partners around the World--as we extend Eid-Al-Ftr Greetings to all Muslims around the World:

UN confirms deal with Russia, Red Cross on evacuating civilians from Mariupol plant

.B. Stoddard: The Insurrectionists Are Coming.

If the Kevin McCarthy tapes taught us all anything, it’s that the man is game to harbor criminals. And once someone with power does that, what won’t they do? Positioned to be third in line to the presidency nine months from now as speaker of the House, McCarthy will lead a conference of radicals, nihilists, and some people who likely committed federal crimes.

Shouldn’t Democrats be talking about this?

This is not the same group of Republicans who Democrats defeated in the 2018 midterms. That weak and compromised conference was in Trump’s thrall, but had not yet tried to stop the peaceful transfer of power. Today there are GOP members of Congress who were involved in what January 6th Select Committee member Rep. Jamie Raskin describes as an “orchestrated, premeditated assault on our system of government.”

And so Democrats campaigning to defend their majority should warn the people they represent about this fact now, rather than just complaining about it next year.
