Notations From the Grid (Special Edition): Out & About in Our World

A Two-Year Budget deal was struck between the Trump Adminstration and the US House Speaker as reported by the New York Times Late yesterday.   The Congressional Budget Office just released this earlier today on the analysis of the Budget Act:

Bipartisan Budget Act of 2019

As posted on July 22, 2019 (https://docs.house.gov/billsthisweek/20190722/BILLS-116hrPIHbipartBudge…).

The United States also has a new Secretary of Defense:  Mark Esper which is especially crucial in light of the profound challenges the United States faces.    On the US Political Front, the testimony by Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller before the House of Representatives is going to be the headliner--although we understand that Fox News will not carry it live--although coverage will be available.

Beyond the shores of the United States, there is the change in the United Kingdom as Boris Johnson just won the leadership election for the Conservative Party as the new European Commission President warned on challenging times ahead.

As we have been assessing our World, we always keep a keen eye on our Community as we received this.   It is a sad testament to the times we live in as we commend the Orange County Foundation and the City of Mission Viejo's Police Services for this initiative:

OCIF
Assalam Alaykum Community Members,
You are all aware of the violent shooting incidents that have taken place in faith institutions, schools/colleges, & other public places.  It can happen anytime, anywhere & anyplace - May Allah SWT protect everyone.

OCIF cares for its community & our neighboring community.  An ‘active shooter training’ will be held at OCIF tonight, Monday, 22nd if July from 6pm to 9pm.  Needless to say it is extremely important that you attend this training to familiarize yourself on how to act / react in such situations.

OCIF will appreciate if you let your friends & neighbors know. All are welcome.

Thank you.
