Notations From The Grid (Friday Edition): On Our World in the aftermath of UK #GE17 & Other Thoughts...

It has been quite a morning in our World as the United Kingdom has entered into a period of uncertainty in the aftermath of the elections.    The return of two-party politics has become the norm in the UK as the Prime Minister has gone to the Queen to request the forming of a new Government with the Democratic Unionist Party of Northern Ireland.    There is some talk that the UK may have to be faced with another General Election within a year==it is slated to quite messy.   Across on the continent, though, is France as President Macron's new Party is set to command a majority in the French National Assembly which will transform France.     President Macron has also decided to end the State of Emergency--but incorporate certain provisions in common law.    We have also been continuing to assess the Gulf Crisis as countries continue to gang up on Qatar--as Qataris have heeded the call of the Emir of Qatar and the Government to stay patient.

We wanted to enter the weekend with this "snapshot" courtesy of the team at Global Citizen on a high note as we wish all a great weekend:

Notations On Our World (Special Friday Edition):: On the UK #GE2017 & The Aftermath...

Seat forecast graphic

Our team has been on the prowl assessing the UK Elections and we have been blown away by the results:  The United Kingdom has a hung parliament.    This is the third hung parliament as the post-elections analysis is in full force.     As the conservatives have grown to be the second largest parliament in Scotland as it clearly appears that the independence movement in Scotland has lost steam.    There is one very interesting development:  The UK Independence Party is a spent political force.   Our team found it quite startling as the Exit polls have been almost spot on in the UK--which our team found absolutely amazing.

There are some very interesting observations noted in discuorse on Sky News:

  • The state opening of Parliament is on June 18.    Although Mrs. May will continue as Prime Minister, she will need to enter into coailiaton Government
  • If the Queen's Speech is voted down (which is the Government manifesto), The Labor Leader Jeremy Corbyn may be invited by the Queen to form the Government.   If he fails, there will another general election.

This is as the Brexit Negotiations loom..     It will be fascinating to be witness to it all as the World awaits an impending statement from the British Prime Minister assessing how best to put together a workable government as there are rumours of leadership challenges including the outgoing Foregin Secretary, Boris Johnson--who was one of the leading Brexit campaigners.

It will a fascinating few weeks......

On Our Virtual WalkAbout For the Week

President Trump begin the morning going after the Mayor of London again.  This is as he rolled out his  Air Traffic Control Initiative that at its' heart calls for a privatization of Air Traffic Control.   The Washington Post had an interesting snapshot of What the President had done as one point was noted: The President finds it easier to destroy than to build.   Our team found it especially poignant that even the Washington Examiner, one of the leading Conservative Voices in Washington, called upon Republicans to begin Governing.

But this weekend was also a great weekend as #OneLoveManchester was held.  It was a beautiful event and it was an honor for us here at the Daily Outsider to release a newsflash on it.    It has raised some 3 Million Dollars for Manchester Victims--as the music luminaries of our time put on quite a show and the scenes were heartwarming:

Justin Bieber's admonition was beautiful: Fight evil with good, fight evil with love... don't fight evil with more evil".     The team at Global Citizen (that we value as a partner) captured the scenes beautifully earlier today which is available by clicking here.

It is also time for our latest edition of  Thought For the Week, please enjoy this selection courtesy of the team at Global Citizen Featuring Hillary Clinton:

This is as the UK Elections Loom with polls seeing a virtual collapse for the ruling conservatives and as the World awaits the testimony of James Comey, the former FBI Director.    It is bound to be quite week.

Notations On Our World (Special Sunday Edition): On the Eve of a New Week.....

Dubai, UAE (Source; The Interecept)

It has been quite a 24 remarkable 24 hours.   President Trump went after the Mayor

Of London as the Mayor tried to calm the situation which provoked a backlash on

social media.    The Spokesman for the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, noted that,

"...he's got better things to do.." and the Labor Leader, Jeremy Corbyn,

was no less gracious to the President during remarks on Sunday.  What was

especially interesting was how the US Embassy in London reacted in direct

contradiction of President as reported by CNN:

In contrast to a critical tweet from U.S. President Donald Trump, the U.S. Embassy

in the UK sent out words of praise for London Mayor Sadiq Khan's leadership.

It was among three tweets offering condolences and heaping praise on police,

emergency responders and ordinary Londoners. The tweets were signed by

Lew Lukens, the embassy's chargé d'affaires ad interim.
